Norman Wilder

April 28, 1952 ~ May 23, 2021 (age 69)

Obituary

Norman C. Wilder was born in the small town of Kosciusko, Mississippi, on April 28th, 1952, to Curtis and Ruby Wilder. Norman was one of seven children that the union of his parents brought into this world; he had five brothers and one sister.
Norman had an entrepreneurial heart, as he was driven and ambitious in all his ventures in life. He attended Boys Tech High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as a mechanical engineer. He was also a proud businessman of NCW INC for numerous years. He was always willing to share insight with fellow friends, family, and associates on not only how to make financial revenue but ways to sustain it. One could say that his philosophy in life was not based on simply giving a man a fish but teaching him how.
While attending a work picnic in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Norman met the love of his life, Shari Wilder. His introduction marked the catalyst to them embarking on a love that transcended into marriage on January 1st, 1986. He was a family man and a father to eight children who knew of his love for travel, adventure, and seeing and understanding the world for far more than what it presented itself to be. His love for his grandchildren extended beyond words, and they always had a special place in his heart, as he adored the precious gifts that they were.
Norman accepted Jesus Christ on April 29th, 2021, after attending a church home for many years that he and his late wife thought of as an extension of their family.
Norman was truly a one-of-a-kind man, a character like no other. His close family all cherished stories of his resourceful ways when it came to finances and his corny, at times nerdy demeanor. He was straightforward but had the capacity to extend himself when needed. His late wife often lovingly called him “Spock” because of his ability to use logic to advise those who sought advice. He was widely known for saying “That’s not it” and “It’s a done deal” amongst his family and friends, as these infamous quotes only amplified who he was.
Norman transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shari Wilder; his father, Curtis Wilder; his mother, Ruby Wilder; his brothers, Willie Wilder, Perry Wilder, and Michael Wilder; and his daughter, Rose Wilder.
Norman leaves to cherish his memories: his children: Tondalaya Hammock of Phoenix, Arizona, Parsha Evans of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lakisha Criss of McKinney, Texas, Christopher Coleman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Renardo (Tina) Coleman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joy Wilder-Head of Jacksonville, Florida, and April Stoutamire of Atlanta, Georgia; three siblings: Jennifer (Derwin) Words of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Harold Wilder of Milkwaukee, Wisconsin, and Duane (the late Sharon) Wilder of Colombia, South America; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grand: Malcolm, Donovan, Hiawassee, Lynasia, Ja’von, Joel, Jolene, Jameer, Jennavive, Malachi, Javarious, Jartavia, Jariyah, Azayla-Ray, and Noah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
