On a beautiful day, Abigail Fomby and Wayne Akins were blessed with a precious baby girl, LaBrittany Denise on March 4, 1986 in Gainesville, FL.
Brittany accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Reggins at Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church. In later years she became a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Rev Gallmon was her Pastor.
She graduated from Gainesville High School, Class of 2004. She was a Cheerleader and a member of Delta Dolls.
Brittany was employed with the Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Corrections, for years. Her current position was a support tech of Shand’s Hospital until her illness. Brittany had a passion for wanting to help whoever she could and a determination to become a nurse. Through her illness she continued with her college classes and received her degree in nursing.
Brittany was married to Rodney Johnson on October 8, 2016 and to this union they had a daughter, Lauren.
During her illness she had wonderful caregivers, her mother, Abigail, her grandmother, Betty and her sister Jasmine.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: husband, Rodney Johnson, two daughters, Shaniyah Williams, Lauren Johnson, mother, Abigail Fomby, Father, Wayne Akins, and his wife Mary Akins. Sisters: Jasmine Wade, Dwan Wade, Grandmother: Betty Fomby, Father - in- law, Early Johnson and his wife Dorthea. Special cousin: Barbara Moore and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Brittany was preceded in death by her grandfather, Frank Fomby.
