Joeann Sherman Elleby was born on June 29, 1958 in Sanford, Florida, to the late Sandy Sherman and Arnitta Walker Paulk.
She attended the public Schools of Alachua County. She married Leonard James Elleby on May 27, 1995. She worked at Bakers Daycare Center, private group homes and nursing homes. She also worked at the A.R.C. of Alachua County for 15 years.
She was a member of the New Beginnings Church. She loved her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Joeann Sherman Elleby accepted her wings to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida after a long illness at the of 62 years old. She was the first child of Sandy and Arnitta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy Sherman and Arnitta Paulk; sister, Laurann Sherman; Aunts, Virdell Peterson, Gussie Walker and Idella Starling; Uncles, Freddie Williams, Victor Walker, Elmo Sherman and Eddie Sherman.
She leaves to cherish her memories and to rejoice in her homegoing; her husband, Leonard James Elleby of Gainesville, FL; her Sons, Bobby Hopkins (Melody), Kyle Hill Elleby; her daughters, Angela James (Jessie), Monica Williams; her sisters, Rosetta Blackshear and Linda Walker of Gainesville, FL; her sisters-in-law, Sivena Jackson Elleby, Debra Elleby, Tyronda Brown, Joyce Elleby, Erica Clemson and Tia Wright; her brothers- in-law, Charlie Elleby, Chris Elleby, Cecil Brown, Kartel Elleby, Kelvin Wright and Domi Wright; her aunts, Alese Miller, Charlene Hamilton and Luevina Crum; her uncle, Calvin Walker; her Father-in-law, James Elleby; her grandchildren, Johnny Nobles, Neteria Barber, Ankeyawna Barber, Netreanna Barber, Neiltron Barber, Jarvis Phillips, Jr., Shanquiise Martin, Jar’vonni Phillips, Clayton, Brandon, Kenyon, Nehemiah, Summer, Khloe, Geovandii, Serenity, Leilanid Hopkins, Kressia Stokes, Rehanna, Pierre Williams all of Gainesville, FL; her great grandchildren, Noah Glover, Devon McCray, Peyton, Skylar Smith, Zion Barber, Zoei Barber, Kenian Smith, Logan Barton and Riley Barton. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
