We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Phillip & Sons The Funeral Directors, Inc.
Roslyn D. Woods was born on November 5, 1932 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Roslyn was third eldest of thirteen children. She went on to attend and graduate from Fashion Industries High School. At the age of 19, her mother passed away and she had to care for her younger sister and brothers making sure they stayed together.
Later in life she met a handsome man named James Woods who she would marry and raise three children with; Robert, Shareneand Deedra. She was a housewife until all her children were in school and at that time she went back to school and didn’t stop until she received her second Master’s degree. Roslyn was also a faithful member of Pilgrim Cathedral.
Years later, after the death of her husband she relocated to Gainesville where began her new awesome life she had here…she had her dream house built. She joined and became an active member of Compassionate Outreach Ministries. Under Bishop Dennison and First Lady Dennison she continued to be about her father’s business working in the tape ministry and serving as a Mother right next to her BFF and Sister-in-law Mother Ethel Wallace.
She was well liked by her neighbors and all who she came in contact with. Roslyn joins her beloved husband, six brothers, a sister, and her parents in Heaven. She is survived by her son Elder Bob Woods (Karen) and her daughters Sharene Wright and Deedra Woods. Grandchildren: David, Micha, Shayla, Ryann, and Caleb. Brothers and sisters: Bishop Gerald Seabrooks, Bishop Kenneth Seabrooks, Carol McGill, Evangelist Lois Johnson, Apostle Sonia Curmon, Mother Shirley Williamson, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family members. On Monday, May 30th the Lord called for his faithful servant and that is why we are here celebrating.
