Obituary

MICHEAL DEJUAN SMITH was born on 1 October 1979 in Bogalusa La to Mr. & Mrs. Leander and Lorraine Smith and Kenneth Johnson.  During those formative years he was baptized @ First Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville Beach.

He attended Mayport Elementary, Landmark Middle, Terry Parker High School, and Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville as well as Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, Ga.  After school he relocated to Mandeville, La.

Upon returning to Florida, (after Hurricane Katrina) he launched a career as Sales Manager @ Tire Kingdom in Palm Coast before becoming Manager @ NTB ( National Tire and Battery) in route to Manager @ Mavis Tires and Brakes.

Along his Career he was fortunate enough to meet bride to be, Serteria Lawanda Cobb.  During those school years, he also forged Lifelong relationships with guys that were more like Brothers than friends…LaQuan Toomer, Aaron Evans, Brandon Mills, Carl Richardson, Babak Nemnematian, Cordell Brooks, Jerome Perry, Darnell Dixon, Ramondos Johnson to name a few.

His Greatest feat of all was when he married Mrs. Serteria Lawanda Cobb Smith of Gainesville, FL and began a new Life with her.  Mike managed to bond, impact, and encourage everyone he encountered in such a short time here.  We all knew who his favorite team was, and the Swag from head to toe.  Those of us who were close know of the Love He Had for Family and Friends.

He is survived by his loving dedicated wife, Mrs. Serteria Lawanda Cobb Smith of Gainesville, FL, Mr/Mrs Leander Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth Johnson of Covington, LA., (Two Sisters) Lashanda C. Smith Handy and DeQuidda Bennett, One Brother- Nathan Jermaine Smith, Davion Reed (Son) Gainesville, FL, Yazmin A Handy ( Niece), Malique Handy ( Nephew), Kay’lin Smith ( Nephew), Diontae Means (Nephew).

Mother-in-Law-Mrs. Edna Lee Young of Gainesville, FL, Fredrick Tarounga, Betty Poole, Clora Bateh, Deborah Williams ( David), Mr. Johnnie, James, Leon, Joseph and Robert Scott all of Gainesville, FL.

Dancha Montgomery (God sister) Myles Montgomery (Nephew)

God Brothers- Larauz & Sammie Dale and Vernon Penn

God- Mothers – Loreane Luter and Jennifer Hammond

Step-Mother – Gillian Johnson of Covington, La.

And a Host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews and Close Friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmother – Willen Jackson, Leslie and Geneva Gray ( Grandfather/ Grandmother) of Bogalusa, La.
