John Charles O’Neill, 91 of Keystone Heights, FL, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by love, on April 22, 2020. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Charles O’Neill and Helen McLaughlin O’Neill.
His early years were filled with adventures with his brothers and sisters. He served in the United States Army for 4 years. He was an airplane mechanic and went to work for Pan AM, and transferred to Miami, FL. He was promoted to maintenance foreman and retired from there after 35 years, of loyal service.
In 1984, he married the love of his life, Barbara Shedaker. Together they built a loving home and more adventures in fishing and Billiards.
Before and after his retirement, he was active in Real Estate and city politics in Hialeah, where he served as a city councilman and on the zoning board.
In 1990, John and Barbara moved to Keystone Heights and built a beautiful home.
John is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his wife Barbara, 4 children Peggy O’Neill, Michael (Mary Ellen) O'Neill, Preston Bowlin(Wanda), Barbara Zorn, 3 grandchildren; Rena Twiggs, Jamie Snodgrass, and Michelle Cabezas, and great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
