Jerome Millman, devoted husband, father, and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away on Friday Oct. 22, 2021 at the age of 66 in Gainesville, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Alachua at 9am, October 30 in High Springs, and in the metro Atlanta area at Marietta Alliance Church on November 6; with an additional service on campus at the University of Florida TBD.
Jerome was born in Nashua, New Hampshire to David and Dorothy Millman (nee Goffstein) on May 20, 1955. He graduated from Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida and attended the University of Florida.
He worked as a tailor and business owner producing high-end custom clothing, and previously for a boutique menswear store, and as a grocery store owner.
Despite decades of declining health and near constant pain, interactions with Jerome were full of life, light, and mirth; his demeanor constantly encouraging, his hands looking to serve where he could, be generous when needed and able, and showing kindness to all with his inimitable smile and infectious joy. He took great joy in cooking for his family and friends whenever possible, and generally taking care of those he loved. He had a gift, both innate and developed, for connecting with people, staying in touch, and deepening relationships over time. By his enduring toughness, Jerome used this skill to share the joys, comforts, and truths of his Lord Jesus, and his faithfulness yielded fruitful impacts for Christ.
Jerome was a proud Gator Booster for over 30 years holding season tickets for football, men's basketball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, and volleyball. He also was involved in several Gator Boosters support clubs including the Gator Tipoff Club, Gatortown Gators, Dugout Club, Attack Club, Diamond Club, Gator Gymnastics Gang, and the Men's and Women's Tennis Boosters.
Jerome is survived by his wife Debbie and son Sean; as well as sister Linda Corlew, brother-in-law Jerry Corlew, and nephew Jason Corlew; and sister-in-law Vicki Glinski and brother-in-law Ed Glinski, and mother-in-law Virginia Brewer.
