Mother Helen Elizabeth Danzy-Forbes was born May 21st 1936 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Alfred and Lilith Danzy. She was the second child of eight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Quincy Forbes; two brothers, Alphonso Danzy, Willie Danzy and two sisters, Betty Danzy-White and Gloria Danzy-Young. Helen’s family and friends knew her as ‘Baby’, a nickname given by her eldest brother Alphonso. Baby was loved by all, her hobbies included cooking, cleaning , fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
At an early age, Helen knew she wanted to help others.She was a graduate of Lincoln High School of 1954.She was known for feeding the homeless and giving her heart to all. She would give her last to make someone else happy. Helen retired from Tacachale Center in 1997, she then devoted her time and kindness volunteering for Foster Grandparent Program of Alachua County for over 7 years. Helen was a devotedmother of her church and choir, Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. She will forever be loved for her kindness, humor and devotion to the community.
On a bright sunny day in 1968 the Lord joined Helen Danzy and Roosevelt Forbes, they shared a lifetime of love and happiness in Archer, FL their commitment and love lasted their entire lifetime.
Mother Helen Danzy-Forbes was granted her key to thru the pearly gates to be with our Lord and savior and her Love (Roosevelt) on Monday, August 31, 2020 while resting peacefully with her loving sister by her side.
Mother Helen Danzy-Forbes will leave precious memories and legacy to her loving son Larry Danzy of Las Vegas, NV: Daughter Sylvia Williams-Starkes(Darius) of Las Vegas, NV; ArKevia Branton,ArKenda Branton and LaChandra Danzy(Johnny) of Gainesville, FL; Her best-friend and loving sister Deloris Danzy-Rivers of Gainesville, FL; Two loving brothers Robert Danzy and Eugene Danzy of Gainesville, FL; and many great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and many foster grandkids whom lives she touched.
