Edward Hall, affectionately known as “FROG”, was born February 16, 1938, in Lake Garfield, Florida (Polk County). He was born to the late Arthur Hall and the late Thelma Kelly Herrington. Edward peacefully went home to be with his heavenly Father and was greeted by his ancestors, on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Edward gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend James Smith. He was educated at Union Academy, Bartow, Florida. He was an avid student-athlete, who loved playing football, basketball, and baseball in his youth. Upon graduating high school, Edward enlisted in the Army, and later the Army Reserves, spanning 17 years of military service. He was a life-long learner, Edward attended Lively Vocational Technical School and earned his barbering license. When Edward moved to Tallahassee, in the early 70s, he began working as a concrete finisher at Williams Concrete, and a Laundry Service Technician for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Edward, started his professional career at the City of Tallahassee Wastewater Treatment Division. He retired from the City of Tallahassee after 26 years of service as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. After retirement, his favorite pastime was surfing the television watching his favorite sports teams (FAMU, FSU, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan era, and Cleveland Cavaliers during the LebronJames era).
Edward was joined in holy matrimony to Mary Lucy Hogan, November 6, 1961, and to this union 3 children were born. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lucy Hall, Tallahassee, Florida, daughters: Edwina Hall and Tory Hall, Tallahassee, Florida. Sons: Juan Hall and George Huff, Tallahassee, Florida. Grandchildren: Taryn Clemons, Skylar Raine Smith, Kopper Staten, Tallahassee, Florida; Juan Hall, Jr. and Ocean Hall, New Orleans, Louisiana. Great-Grandchildren: Payten Kinsley Miller and Paxten Kruz Miller, Tallahassee, Florida. Sisters: Celestine Thornton (Kenneth),Bartow, Florida, Emmelene Porter Kitchen Hines, Gainesville, Florida, and Arthurlein Holcomb, Buffalo, New York. Brothers: Reginald Earl (Denise), Brighton, Massachusetts, and Daniel Hall Lowmack, Cheswick, Pennsylvania. Sister-in-laws: Helen Lewis and MaedeaDavis, Tallahassee, Florida. Godchildren: Stephanie Council Tolbert and Morris Riley, Tallahassee, Florida. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
