Archie Ray Lewis, 76, of Putnam Hall died on Christmas Eve, 2019. He was born to James and Grace (Whitson) Lewis in Knoxville, Tn.
When he was 17 years old, his mother provided the permission necessary to join the military, and he proudly served our nation, until his retirement in 1980. In 1963, he married Linda (Forlines) Lewis and together they raised 2 daughters, Tina (Lewis) Green and Monica (Lewis) Davis. While serving in the Air Force, he and his family traveled extensively. He loved to sing Karaoke, play darts, loved trains, and served as Chaplain at US Veterans Post 104 in Palatka, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred (Lewis) Black, his first spouse Linda (Forlines) Lewis, stepson William Bracewell and step-grandson Gunner Bracewell.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his wife Barbara (Pridgeon) Lewis, his two brothers Kenneth and Sherrell Lewis of Ohio, his two daughters, Tina (Lewis) Green and Monica (Lewis) Davis, stepsons Daren and Shannon Bracewell, 2 natural grand-daughters Sarah (Danes) Siebert and Kelly Dowdy, 4 natural great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He always had a smile and a kind word for others and was willing to help everyone. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at the US Veterans Post 104 in Palatka, FL.
