Alpha : On July 26, 1949, Joseph was born to the late Charlie Jr. & Essie Mae Holland in Live Oak Fla. Joseph was the youngest of 11 siblings, six in which preceded him death Ulysses, Parrish, Wilber, Lucille, Dorothy and Thelma. Joseph was a extra ordinary person. He always believed in being well groomed and his favorite hobby was car racing. Joseph was known as “ Hard Time “.
Growing up Joseph always had a cunning way of handling things, especially if someone tried to challenge him. Whatever Jospeh wanted he made sure he got it. On one of his jobs, his supervisor showed him how to do the job and Joseph stood back and the job was completed before his supervisor realized what was going on. He gave his cousins Joe Price & Edison Hires a “ hard time “ in the watermelon and tobacco fields. He would not share his hot may-haw jelly, biscuits, sausage and ham with them, they had to eat bologna sandwiches. He was just being Joseph giving them a “hard time”. At Suwannee Health Care he gave those who cared for him a “hard time” (Angel, Stephanie & Carla and not forgetting his sister Hazel). We are truly going to miss Joseph especially the staff at SHCC South Wing Nursing Staff who provided care with lots of love with patience as he transitioned from one stage of his life to another.
