On October 1, 2019, the ark angel came and whispered in his ear “it’s time to go to a better place”.
Gerad Keith Mariney was the son of the late Charles Hankerson and Willia Mae (Mariney) Thomas. He was born on December 12, 1960 in FT Lauderdale Florida. He attended Rock Island Elementary School in his early days. He went on to Everglades Middle School and graduated from Boyd Anderson High School in FT Lauderdale, FL. (class of 1978). He lived there until 2015 when Katrina asked him to come and live with her to help take care of her and her children. She moved him back to Tallahassee, FL where he was living until his timely death.
Gerad was known as the Water Man in Tallahassee. He also worked for FSU in the kitchen department and Talquin Portable Restrooms during football season. He was a true Miami Hurricanes fan.
Proceeding in death was his stepfather T.J. Thomas, his brother Tommy Lee Thomas of Madison, FL. Two other brothers of FT Lauderdale, FL, Two aunts (Eva Mingo and Barbra Randall and several aunts and uncles.
Surviving by daughter Tarachel Katrina James (Joe) of Tallahassee, FL and a son (Larue Turner of FT Lauderdale, FL. Two grandchildren; Ty’ion McQuary and Jo’Quaysia James of Tallahassee, FL. Three sisters; Ramona Jordan of Tallahassee, FL, Brenda Hankerson of FT Lauderdale, FL and Tangela Thomas of Madison, FL. Two brothers; Willie (Shronda) Thomas of Valdosta, GA. And Brian Thomas of Jasper, FL.
Daily Crew: Jason King, Tavoris Turner and Rashaad King of Tallahassee, FL.
He had four nieces and nephews that he practically helped raised; Jaliecia Thomas and Kayla Jordan of Tallahassee, FL. Deshaun (Lucky) of Madison, FL and Kameron Thomas (Night Shift) of Atlanta., GA along with a hort of nieces, nephew, cousins and sorrow
