Dorothy Mae (Mama Dot) Alexander was born on July 4, 1935 to the loving parents of the late Mr. Nathaniel Jefferies Sr. and the late gorgeous Mrs. Cornelia Dudley Jefferies Griggs of Jasper County
Mama Dot was educated in the Jasper County Public School system. She joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she faithfully served until her daughter became a minister in 1994.
Upon completion of her high school education, Mama Dot met and married her husband the late Mr. Nelson Alexander in 1953 and then moved to Atlanta, Ga.
