Mr. Collis Warren of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully Friday, November 8, 2019. He was born August 25, 1946 in Gainesville, FL, to Leotis Singleton and Odell Warren
He grew up in the Gainesville area and attended Lincoln High School where he played football as a defensive back. He graduated class of ‘67.
He later worked for IFAS at the University of Florida as an Agricultural Tech 1 from September 29, 1969 until he retired March 29, 2002.
Collis was an extremely hard-working person and loved his family. He served as a deacon at his church Agape Faith Center. He enjoyed any type of sports. He loved jazz, gospel music and soul food.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Odell Warren and father Lee Otis Singleton.
He is survived by; Collis Warren, Jr., Samuel Warren, Cornelius Warren, (three sons) Shanonda Sumesar Rai, Lashawn Littles (two daughters) Luvada Archer, Annette Coleman, Omega Herring (Joe) Verdell Jackson, Rose Johnson, Marilyn Warren. (six sisters), Felix Warren, Virgil Warren, Carl Warren, Barney Warren(Samantha), and Lee Otis Singleton (five brothers) and a host of grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Warren will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at Faith Church, Kevin Thorpe Pastor, Pastor Donnell Sanders, Eulogist; burial will follow in Forest Meadows Cemetery, Gainesville, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Philip & Wiley Mortuary, Inc., 310 State Road 26, Melrose, FL.
Mr. Warren will repose in the Philip & Wiley Mortuary on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 from 12: 00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of Service. Family and friends are asked to meet at Faith Church, 2905 S.E. 21st Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32641 at 10:15am. There will not be a Cortege.
